MISSION STATEMENT
Welcome to Twinkle Stars Montessori Nursery and Pre-School, situated within Holy Trinity Church in the church rooms, conveniently positioned at Lyonsdown Road and Somerset Road in New Barnet. Established in 2010 and under new management since 2016, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years. As a private and independent day nursery, we are firmly grounded in the philosophy and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori's educational method, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
At Twinkle Stars Montessori Nursery, our experienced and multilingual Montessori qualified teachers are committed to delivering top-quality care in a safe, fun, nurturing and structured setting. We believe in fostering confidence, motivation, and self-discipline through personalised learning plans and achievable goals for each child.
Operating five days a week during term time, with the possibility of additional activity weeks during half term, our nursery offers flexible hours from 8:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday.
Our spacious classrooms provide diverse areas for activities that support everyday learning, knowledge and understanding of the world, literacy, mathematics, sensorial development, creative art expression, and role-play. Upholding the Japanese shoe etiquette principle, we prioritise cleanliness and comfort by requiring outdoor shoes to be removed before entering the nursery and providing indoor shoes, ensuring a hygienic environment for indoor exploration and play.
Outdoor play is a fundamental part of our curriculum, with two delightful gardens offering various activities such as tricycles, gardening, group play, and more. We encourage hands-on experiences and creativity, promoting a holistic approach to learning.
Twinkle Stars Montessori boasts a team of highly qualified Montessori teachers with multicultural backgrounds, dedicated to providing the best possible education and care for your child. Our mission is to support parents in raising well-balanced, independent, and happy children.
We facilitate a mixed-age group environment, where children aged 18 months to 5 years learn collaboratively. Younger children benefit from observing and learning from their older peers, while older children refine their skills by supporting the younger ones. Our nursery consists of two spacious rooms, the Luna Room and the Solei Room, where children regularly spend time together to encourage social interaction. At times, children also work in separate rooms according to their individual needs, interests, and stages of development. Equally important, we maintain a low teacher-to-child ratio, with one teacher for every four children, including for children aged 2 and above.

WHO IS MARIA MONTESSORI, AND WHY MONTESSORI?
Dr. Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952) was a trailblazer in child-centered education. Her groundbreaking research and experimentation in early childhood development laid the foundation for the Montessori philosophy, a well-respected method practiced worldwide.
Montessori education emphasizes following the child's lead, fostering independence and self-sufficiency through specially designed resources and mixed-age classrooms. Children learn by doing, repeating activities to build confidence and problem-solving skills.
Materials are carefully designed to awaken sensorial skills and encourage exploration, nurturing a love for learning from an early age. Montessori education recognizes the crucial importance of a child's early years, focusing on holistic development to prepare them for a successful future.
